Hundreds gathered this week in Charles Village at the site of the brutal murder of Stephen Pitcarin to show solidarity against violence in one of Baltimore's historic neighborhoods. But some people were outraged and demanded to know why the accused attackers, both of whom had extraordinary criminal backgrouds, were still on the streets.
The murder of Pitcarin is the latest example of the perceived spike in violence in Baltimore. Violent crime is reportedly down in the city, but too many citizens feel unsafe and unsure of what needs to be done to fix this problem.
