Is this HELPFUL?

Over the weekend Congressman David Scott of Georgia lost it! A town hall meeting on a highway project became the latest target of anti-Obama, pro-big insurance company protestors. These sorts of outbursts have been happening all over the country. Think that's a coincidence?

These protests have gotten physical at several town hall meetings and extra security is being hired by elected officials for future discussions on this issue.

Does shouting each other down really contribute anything to the discussion? The representatives of these major insurance companies have very little interest in a discussion....want they want is chaos....and they're winning.

Instead of letting them dictate the conversation I would advise these elected officials to forgo these forums for now. Communicate with their constituents through surveys, telephone conference calls and use other technological techniques now available. Stop giving these people a platform to make a mockery of this process.

If they want to be heard, let them put it in writing and submit to your Congressional offices. Sooner or later they'll get the message and come up with a new tactic.

I'm sure Rep. Scott wishes he had managed not to let this guy get under his skin.
